There is a story that he was crossing the river to go hold a revival & the river was up. He & the horse fell in the river, he hung on to the horse & swam the rest of the way. He got sick in the pulpit & died 3 days later at Mr. Sutterfield's daughter's home in Sinkin.
There is a possibility that the birth date should be 29 March. A family member remembers the old stone had the 29th & another Thomas descendant states the Salt Lake City Mormom Church has it listed as 29 March.
My great grandfather's siblings were: Eliza Frances Thomas Pierce, Robert E. Thomas, Lucinda Catherine Thomas Moore Pierce Pierce, Orlena Thomas Killion, & Anne Thomas.
