Born Aug. 30, 1933, in New York City, she was a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Ida (Rodriguez) Lopez. She was a resident of Monroe County for the past 21 years, and prior to that of New York.
She was a Roman Catholic and a member of the B. Gregory Krummell Memorial VFW Post 3448, Tobyhanna.
Rose loved life and her love was her family, and in addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, John G. Vega and his wife, Patricia, of Woodbridge, N.J., Lawrence J. Vega and his wife, Ann, of Sayreville, N.J., and Frans W. Abbema of Tobyhanna; her grandchildren, Andrew Vega, Angelica Vega, Lauren Vega and Frans A. Abbema.
She is also survived by her sisters, Maria Whitehead of Schenectady, N.Y., Angeletta Solano of Queens, N.Y., and Anna Patrick of New Mexico; and her brother, Joseph Rodriguez of Los Angeles; and many nieces and nephews.
