Estus and Fredda both were in what is called Church Army, which was apart of the Episcopal Church at one time. They were missionaries for Redfield's South Dakota, on an Indian reservation in 1958. My grandfather learned their Sioux language and brought the worship service to them in their own language, he was the only one that ever did that for them.
My grandfather often would play his Hawaiian Steel guitar and his Ukelele and when we would get together we would all sing. Grandpa Bruce taught his grandchildren how to garden and especially how to fish. His motto was if you give a man one fish it will only feed him for a day, but if you teach him how to fish then you have fed him for a life time. If my grandfather could see the Spokane River now and see how polluted it is he would be weeping over this. The Spokane River use to be a great source of food at one time, now you wouldn't even get me to eat any of the fish brought out of there at all! He told his daughter (Mary)not to make him a grandpa, but he was the best grandpa a child could of had.
