Born June 23, 1928, in Greenwood, SC, she was the widow of Raymond Boyd Sistare and daughter of the late Stephen Lovejoy Clark and Jeanette Ann (Bishop) Clark.
Mrs. Sistare sang on the Little Rascals Radio Show as a child and was a former employee of Ivey's, Dillard's, and Sears. She was a member of Skylyn United Methodist Church, attended Lander College where she was an avid tennis player, and traveled the world.
Surviving are her son, Raymond Eugene Sistare of Spartanburg; daughter, Emily Sistare Burgess and husband Steve of Moore; grandchildren, Stephen Sistare of Mt. Pleasant, Casey Joe Burgess of Spartanburg, and Kristin Sistare Bunton and husband Jason of Spartanburg; and great-grandson, Jacob H. Bunton.
She was predeceased by an infant son, Stephen Sistare; and a brother, Bobby Clark.
A graveside service was conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 16, 2012, in Sunset Memorial Park, by the Rev. Dr. Tina Woody. Visitation followed at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
The family extended their thanks to the staff and residents of Eden Terrace for loving, teasing, and caring for Gran.
