Lawrence Arthur "Larry" Strimple was the son of William Arthur Strimple (1873–1930) and Isabel (Marvel) Strimple (1881–1975).

In the 1930 census he was in Denver, Colorado, working as a machinist pressman for a plumbing supply company.

Five years later, on June 30, 1935 he was married in Hollywood, Los Angeles County, California to Roberta Ethel "Bobbie" Gardner (1912–1979), the daughter of James Hammond Gardner (1875–1940) and Adella Alice "Della" (Harris( Gardner (1881–1957).

The principal of Buena Park High School and living at 4254 Marwick Avenue in Lakewood, Larry died of a heart attack on his way to work on January 22, 1965 as he drove into a service station at Lincoln and Knott avenues.

Survivors included his widow Roberta, who was a nurse at Excelsior High School in Norwalk, daughters Mrs Helen Marie Dennis, Mrs Judy Gale Stewart and Miss Patricia Ann Strimple, mother Mrs Isabel Strimple, sisters Mrs Irene Gramlich, Mrs Lucile Seeley, Mrs Elizabeth Wright and Mrs Judith Besse and two grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held on January 29th at Community Methodist Church in Lakewood, and burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Cypress, Orange County, California.
