Lucienne "Lucy" R. Bureau, 87, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Evergreen Commons Nursing Home in East Greenbush. She was a resident of Newcomb, N.Y., for 54 years. Lucienne held fond memories of wintering in Cocoa, Fla., for 14 years before moving in 2004 to Diamond Ridge in Troy, N.Y. Lucienne was born on September 9, 1923 in St. Ludger, Quebec, Canada, and was the daughter of the late Delphis and Rachael (LaPierre) Doyon. She was employed by the Newcomb Central School as the cafeteria manager for 35 years. She was an active member of St. Therese's Catholic Church in Newcomb, N.Y., and St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Speigletown, N.Y. She will be remembered as an expert seamstress who enjoyed cooking, wood working, crafts and taking long walks. She was devoted to spoiling her three grandchildren. Lucienne is survived by her loving son, Gino (Barbara) Bureau; her three cherished grandchildren, Scott, Eric and Nicole Bureau; her siblings, Guy Doyon, Fleurette Massicott, Jackie Latendresse and Doris Massicott; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 44 years, Louis Bureau; and her siblings, Ferdinand Doyon, Real Doyon, and Emilienne LaPierre. A memorial Mass will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011, at St. Therese's Catholic Church, 18 Adams Lane in Newcomb. Interment will follow in St. Therese's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Newcomb Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 98, Newcomb, NY 12852 or to St. Therese's Catholic Church in memory of Lucienne R. Bureau.
