Ada Tarvin MacClatchie, 89, of San Diego, Calif., formerly of Northern Kentucky, died at 8:20 a.m. Saturday at Casa de la Campanas Retirement Home, San Diego. She served in the Navy during World War II as a WAVE lieutenant and later became chief advisement officer for the Veterans Administration. She was a chief of the Veterans Administration Advisory to War Victims. She also served at the Naval Hospital in San Diego. She was a specialist in child psychology and formerly taught at Campbell County High School and Dixie Heights High School and served as a school psychologist in San Diego schools. She was an avid traveler and had been around the world three times. Her husband, Capt. Leslie Keith MacClatchie, died in 1968. Survivors include a half-brother, Rev. Roger Tarvin of Erlanger; and several cousins. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Alexandria Cemetery. Alexandria Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
