Pierre --- Services for Earl "Lanky" Vance, 64, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Harvey Sander officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery under direction of Hall Funeral Home.
Vance died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 7, 1910, at Pierre to Frank H. and Minnie Johnson Vance. The family moved to Canada in 1915 but returned to Pierre in 1923. He married Velma G. Whitney, Dec. 5, 1931, at Pierre.
Surviving are his widow; daughter; son, Larry, Fairfax, Va.; two grandsons and eight sisters, Stella Benton and Edith Erickson, Pierre; Gladys Gordon, Fort Pierre; Dutchie Goers, Mills, Wis.; Ida Mason, Chetek, Wis.; Hilda Huse, Onida; Elynore Woelffer, Kenosha, Wis., and Francis Jahn, Jefferson, Wis.
