Born Aug. 30, 1912, in Chambersburg to the late William and Madge Kyle Grove, he graduated from Chambersburg High School.
Mr. Grove was employed by the former Hennessy Products for 46 years -- as a purchasing agent and serving in various administrative positions, retiring in 1977.
He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
A 32nd-degree Mason, he was a member and past worshipful master of George Washington Lodge 143, F&AM; George Washington Royal Arch Chapter 176; Continental Commandry 56; Knight York Cross of Honor, ERI Council 6; Harrisburg Consistory; BPOElks Lodge 600; Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW; and AARP 2287. He was a life member of Potomac Fish and Game Club.
He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, boating and traveling with his wife.
Surviving are wife, Shirley L. McNew Grove, whom he married March 21, 1975; daughter Nancy Pheil of Freehold, N.J.; sister Mary Jane (Mrs. Edwin) Patterson and brothers-in-law Robert McNew and family and George McNew and family, all of Chambersburg; sisters-in-law Lucille (Mrs. Paul Jr.) John of Chambersburg and Julia (Mrs. Delbert) McNew and Pauline (Mrs. Charles) Wagner, both of Fayetteville; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by stepmother Myrtle Grove.
Interment in Lincoln Cemetery.
