She was an American/Russian professor and literary critic. Corresponding Member of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (1926), and member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1943). Examined a set of different problems in the history of literature of ancient Russia. In 1935 he published the article "The symbolism of dreams Freud in the light of Russian mystery." Author of "Essays on the poetic style of Old Russia" (1947), "Russian democratic satire XVII Century" (1954), "The Tale of Igor's Campaign" and monuments of Russian literature XI-XIII centuries "(1968)," Old Russian Literature and Folklore "(1974).
