Larry R. Stagner
Larry R. Stagner, 74, of Kelso passed away Jan. 15, 2013, at the Hospice Care Center. He was born Oct. 7, 1938, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Harry R. and Cecilia (Balser) Stagner. He graduated from McKinley High School in Buffalo in 1958 and moved to the local area from New York 32 years ago.
Larry served as an Army medic from 1956 to 1964 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a security officer for the Trojan Nuclear Power Plant and retired in 2004 as a security officer for Weyerhaeuser. Larry enjoyed watching Law and Order, NCIS, football and wrestling. He was loving, supportive, quiet and happy-go-lucky.
He is survived by his companion of 24 years, Violet Vaughn; two brothers, his twin Harry Stagner and Don Stagner; three stepdaughters, Kathy Dahl, Patty Hurst and Dawn Moore; two stepsons, Richard Vaughn and Darrell Moore; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by three brothers, Loe Stagner, Howard Stagner and Gil Stagner; three sisters, Verna Gisadi, Marie Cole and Esther Traver; and a stepson, Peter Vaughn.
At his request, no service will be held.
Arrangements are by Cascade Northwest Funeral Chapel at Green Hills Memorial Gardens & Crematory.
