Newton Woman, 37, Dies of Heart Failure
Following Major Operation
Mrs. Roy Wall, 37, 712 North Fifth avenue West, died at 6 p.m. Sunday evening at the Skiff Memorial hospital. She had submitted to a major operation there Saturday, and death resulted from heart disease.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist church. Interment will be made in the Sugar Grove cemetery.
Mrs. Wall is the former Dorothy Farmer. She is survived by her husband; three children, Francis LeRoy, 16; Helen, 14; and Richard 6; three brothers, and four sisters. ~ The Newton Daily News, June 13, 1938 and Jasper County Record, June 30, 1938, page 6, column 6

Obituary - Mrs. Roy Wall
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist church for Mrs. Roy Wall, 37, who died Sunday at the Skiff hospital following a major operation. Dr. L. B. Logan, pastor, was in charge.
Music was furnished by John Davis of Colfax, who sang "Perfect Prayer," and a quartet, including Tom McKibben. Mrs. Fred Reeve, Mrs. L. B. Logan and M. O. Dalvey who sang "Going Home" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Miss Lucille Hardaway was organist.
Interment was made in the Sugar Grove cemetery. Pall bearers were William Hamm, Cheryl Kimmel, William Lamb, Ben Rawley, Joe Burr and George Magg.
Mr. and Mrs. Merle Awtry and Mrs. William Hamm were in charge of flowers.
Mrs. Wall is survived by her husband; three children Francis LeRoy; 16, Helen, 14, and Richard 6; three brothers, and four sisters.
