Ralph F. Whitaker, 70, of Loraine passed away on Tuesday, October 11,2011 in the North Adams Home in Mendon, after a four day stay. Ralph was born January 1, 1941 in Quincy the son of the late Clarence and Jennie jones Whitaker. He married Sue Wear on December 11, 1964 in Loraine.
He was past charter member of the Loraine Lions Club. He loved to raccoon and deer hunt, play cards, fish, and watch westerns on TV. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and having coffee every morning at the Mendon Diner and Tap.
In addition to his wife, Ralph is survived by; two children, Jeffrey Whitaker and his wife Lera of Rushville, Julie Whitaker of Loraine; five grandchildren, Jennifer Whitaker, Cody Whitaker, Kristy Whitaker, Britta Whitaker and her companion Brad Carper, Jorie Whitaker; one great-grandchild, Bently Carper; one brother, George Whitaker of Durham, Mo.; three sisters, Jessie Heriford of Kahoka, Mo., Bonnie Crawford of Tama, Ia., and Helen Whitaker of California.
He was preceded in death by; five brothers, Clarence, Jr., Robert, Donald, Norman and Larry Whitaker; and two sisters, Dolly Whitaker and Linda Whitaker.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon. Interment in the New Loraine Cemetery in Loraine.
