Donnis Elaine Parks passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 16, 2011, following a brief illness.

Donni s was born on May 27, 1949, to Donald and Lois Parks at Klamath Valley Hospital in Klamath Falls.

She attended Conger Elementary School, Fremont Junior High, and graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1967. She enjoyed music and was in band while at Conger Elementary.

Shortly after graduating from high school, Donnis moved with friends to Eugene, Ore. While there, she worked various jobs, but found that she enjoyed being a waitress the most and spent several years providing excellent service to customers at various restaurants in Eugene and on the Oregon Coast. She ended up being a waitress trainer in popular resorts in Lincoln City and Port Orford.

Donnis returned to Klamath Falls after the passing of her mother Lois Parks in 1978. She worked at Molatore's Restaurant until getting a job as a case worker for the State of Oregon Senior and Disabled Services. She excelled in this role and continued to work part time even after her official retirement in 2009.

Donnis loved animals of all kinds and kept eclectic pets even as a youngster, including horsehair worms, chipmunks, squirrels, magpies, and a large black and white rat. Later on in life, she settled on cats as her favorite companions and kept a of house full of them throughout her adult life.
Her interests were varied and included movies, science-fiction (primarily Star Trek and Star Gate), horror and murder mysteries, history (particularly that of Oregon and Klamath Falls), and collecting pig and cat-themed memorabilia. She was an avid reader and movie watcher and had a large collection of books and taped movies.

Donnis had a unique and quirky sense of humor that was enjoyed by friends and family alike.
Survivors include her father, Donald Parks, and his wife, Nena Parks; older brother, Patrick Parks, and his wife, Jane Parks; older sister, Penelope Cummings; nephews, Scott Cummings (wife Catherine and daughters Lauren and Christine), Ronald Cummings (son Steven), and Jay Cummings; and nieces, Scarlett Smith (husband Carl) and Rachel Collins (husband Timm and son Owen); cousins, Becky Reed (husband Dennis and sons Eric and Bryan) and Bruce and Mark Priddy; aunt, Elaine Morey; plus many co-workers and friends.

Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd, now at 2680 Memorial Drive, 541-883-3458, was in charge of her cremation. A memorial will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Klamath Humane Society Building Fund.
The family thanks all of you who have been so gracious during this difficult time.
