Mickie Jo Fry, a Lampasas resident since 1980, died July 1, 2012. She was 89.
Viewing is July 6 from 5-7 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Services are July 7 at 11 a.m. at First Street Church of Christ in Lampasas. Burial will be private.
Mrs. Fry was born Aug. 4, 1922, in Rush Springs, Okla., to John and Alta Lewis.
After graduating from Denver High School in Colorado, she performed as a professional roller skater in the Southwestern U.S. and in Mexico.
In 1947, she married Arthur Randall Fry. The couple lived in multiple states over the course of their 58 years together, including Arizona, California, Oklahoma, Floriday and Texas.
They retired in Lampasas in 1980.
They were active members of First Street Church of Christ in Lampasas until Mr. Fry's death in 2007.
Mrs. Fry moved temporarily to Canyon, where she lived with her daughter until returning to Lampasas in 2010.
Survivors include a son, Joel Fry of Durango, Colo.; a daughter, Randy Coetzee of Lampasas; a brother, John Lewis of Littleton, Colo.; a grandson, Bronson Fry of Durango; granddaughters, Jordan Coetzee- Folks of Lampasas, Summer Fry of Albuquerque, N.M., and Micah Fry of Durango; and three greatgrandsons, Calum, Jonah and Noah Folks.
