She was born May 25, 1926, in Newburg a daughter of the late Albert Francis and Edith Novella Poling Beal. She was a homemaker who dearly loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grand children. She loved gardening and sewing, making each of her children's Halloween costumes throughout their childhoods. She was a 1944 graduate of Newburg High School and active in, and the former president of the Newburg Alumni Association. She was also a former member of the Democratic Committee and was Methodist by faith.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Fredrick Harold Taylor; two sons, Martin Taylor and spouse Janey, and Albert "Chip" Taylor; two daughters, Rhonda Jenkins and spouse Ralph and Nancy Gail Taylor; one brother, Ronald Beal and spouse Judy; two sisters, Joy "Bonnie" Casteel and Wilda Jenkins; seven grandchildren and seven great-grand children.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by one son, Dan Fredrick Taylor in 1971.
Funeral Services were conducted at the Rotruck-Lobb Funeral Homes, Newburg Chapel, on Friday, October 8, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Berlin Wilhelm officiating. Interment followed the service at Pratt Cemetery in Newburg.
