UXBRIDGE William C. Andrews, 74, of Calumet Court, died December 25th after a long illness.
He was born October 13, 1929 in Whitinsville, MA, the son of the late Ernest B. and Alma F. (Tate) Andrews and was a lifelong resident of Uxbridge. He was a graduate of Uxbridge High School and has attended Springfield College, Springfield, Ma.
For over twenty years, Mr. Andrews was employed as a Time Study Analyst for the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale and then worked for the Nelmor Corporation of Uxbridge prior to his retirement.
Mr. Andrews was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean conflict.
As a long time member of the North Uxbridge Baptist Church he enjoyed playing on both the church's softball and bowling leagues. For many years he was a coach for the Uxbridge town baseball leagues. Mr. Andrews' enthusiasm for sports included his participation in golf and indoor and outdoor tennis. He was also a member of the Solomon's Temple Lodge of Masons, AF & AM of Uxbridge.
Mr. Andrews is survived by his son, James W. Andrews of Uxbridge; three daughters, Susan L. Clarke of Exeter, R.I., Priscilla J. Marsan of Uxbridge and Beth E. Hansen of Warren, Ma.; his beloved siblings, Paul F. Andrews of Uxbridge and Nancy B. Sweat of Coventry, R.I.; and eight precious grandchildren and many cherished nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the North Uxbridge Baptist Church, 5 East Hartford Ave., Uxbridge Sat., Jan.10, 2004 at 11:00 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Buma Funeral Home, 101 North Main Street, Rt.122, Uxbridge.
