Angela (nee Caputy) Aiello, age 87, of North Tonawanda, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Roseann (nee Naples) Caputy. She had been employed at Buffalo Councilman Tauriello's office and then worked as a secretary at Bell Aircraft before her marriage, and later in life she worked at American Greeting Cards in Florida for 10 years. Angela was one of the original founders of St. Albert the Great Church, where she taught religious education for 15 years, and is now a member of O.L.C. Church in North Tonawanda. She was the mother of the late Maria Mayer who died in 1997, grandmother of the late Marchello Aiello who died in 2006, and sister of the late Marie (Victor) Finaldi, Sibby (Connie) Caputy and Peter (Charolet) Caputy.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joseph Aiello; her daughter, Rosann (Richard) Schweickhard of North Tonawanda; two sons, Joseph (Karen) Aiello and Lawrence Aiello, both of North Tonawanda; and eight grandchildren, Joseph (Robin) Aiello, Roxanne (Ken) Cochran, Michael (Abby) Mayer, Richard (Elise) Schweickhard, Kim (Gabe) Mayer, Rachael (Shawn) Amrhein, Phillip Aiello, and Amanda Aiello-Vacanti. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren, Christopher and Sara Cochran, Dylan Gordon and Richard Schweickhard III, Jacob and Julianna Amrhein, Kyla, Michael, Nickolas and Brinn Mayer, and Layla Vacanti, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Friday at Our Lady of Czestochowa R.C. Church, Oliver Street and Center Avenue in North Tonawanda; Rev. Gary Szczepankiewicz officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to the American Diabetes Assn., 315 Alberta Drive, Suite 102, Amherst, Ny 14226, the American Heart Assn., PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049, or Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094-1231, are preferred by the family.
