Born March 8, 1840, at Newton, Mass. son of Horatio and Elvira (Richards) Clarke. Educated in public and high schools of Dedham, Mass. Author of "Short Organ Gems;" "A Cloister Reverie," "Harmonic School for the Organ," "Short Service Preludes," etc.; Contributor to magazines on musical and metaphysical subjects; editor of the organ dept. of THE MUSICIAN, 1896-1906.
