Graveside services for Melissa Sarah Sargeant of McMinnville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hopewell Cemetery.
Mrs. Sargeant died Dec. 12, 1993, in Oakwood Living Center. She was 89.
She was born Sept. 18, 1904, in Spring Valley, the daughter of Neil and Lucy Nash Versteeg. She was raised and school in Hopewell.
She married Charles H. Sargeant on Sept. 18, 1921, in Salem. She lived in the Hopewell and Grand Island area until 1973, when she moved to McMinnville.
She was a member of Hopewell Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include a son, Russell Sargeant, Hopewell; a daughter, Barbara Freeborn, Dayton; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976.
Arrangements are under the direction of Macy and Son Funeral Directors.
