He was born Dec. 6, 1929, in Irwin, a son of the late John F. and Isabel Gress Allshouse.
He was a retired electrician for I.B.E.W. Local 5 and a former employee of H.L. Wisser Inc. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of the American Legion in Manor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Scott Allshouse.
Surviving are his wife, Kathryn M. (Nichols) Allshouse; three daughters, Janet Sivak and her husband, James, of Scottdale, Joann Arendas and her husband, John, of Newport News, Va., and Jodi Allshouse and her fiance, Anthony Williams, of York, Pa.; four grandchildren, Steve, Brandon, Matthew and Nicholas; three sisters, Jean Dzura, of North Versailles, Gail Bryan, of Canton, Mich., and Joan Smith, of Apache Junction, Ariz.; a brother, Stacy Allshouse, of Irwin; and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Inks officiating. Interment will follow in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon. Those wishing may contribute to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
