Clarence was born on January 11, 1931, at Butler, SD, to Martin and Gena (Flattum) Gramberg. The family lived in Butler until moving to Ortley, SD, where Clarence attended country school and worked on the farm.
On September 25, 1955, Clarence married Beverly Bailey at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown. They raised four children: Cynthia, Scott, Sandra and Kelly. Clarence purchased his first semi at the age of 18 and drove truck, ‘G Truck Lines', until his retirement in 1994. He taught his boys how to drive semi. Clarence moved his family to the farm where he lived as a boy and started to farm and raise livestock. He called it the ‘Circle C Ranch'. Clarence and Beverly raised their children on the farm until they were all grown. The couple then moved to Watertown where they resided until their passing.
Clarence liked the open road traveling. He and Beverly would take their camper to polka festivals and south to Phoenix to visit family and friends. After Beverly's death, he continued to attend polka dances. Clarence would meet his friends every morning for coffee. He loved auction sales and went to as many as he could. He was also a self-taught musician; his favorite being the accordion.
He taught his children to have good values and honesty. He always trusted people on their word. Clarence has moved on to a new phase of his life to be with the Lord.
Clarence is survived by one son, Scott (Peggy) Gramberg, of Sioux Falls, SD, two daughters: Cynthia Gramberg (Jeff) Murray of St. Petersburg, FL, and Sandra (Pete) Soto of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Phyllis (Albin) Stromseth and Violet Davidson both of Watertown, SD.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; one son, Kelly; one granddaughter; his parents; and one sister.
