He was the brother of Laura Virginia Ridenour Chidester (1876-1966), memorial # 86547068.

He married Minnie on the 9th of Apri1, 1902; she was living with his parents for the 1900 census. WV marriage record gives place of marriage as residence of Martin Ridenour, by John O. Bolton. The marriage record gives her name as Minnie Adis Ridenour, with license issued to SF Chidester, and the note of consent by M & M Ridenour on file. The license was issued by Geo. A. Walls. Adam was 27 years of age, and his bride 20. Minnie died in 1906.

By the 1910 census, Adam was in his own household with Mary N. (McGinnis) Ridenour.
On his draft registration card and the death record, Mr. Ridenour's profession was insurance agent.
A newspaper article concerning his death states he was formerly a justice of the peace, and postmaster at Ridgeley.
Mr. Ridenour was found on this property by the family of Mr. Grover Cleveland Abe.
Both Adam's wives preceded him in death.
Six children survived their parents.
