As a young boy, Roy Oscar Deal, grew up in Buena Vista County, Iowa. He began working as a typesetter in a printshop. He later moved west, to California where he continued working in the printing industry.
On February 1, 1911 he married Erma Pearl Chamberlain, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Chamberlain. Oscar and Erma were married for 55 years, until Erma passed away in 1966.
Oscar was later married to Helen 19 1967,until she passed away in 1976.
A long time resident of Riverside for 20 years he was co-owner of Riverside Printing and a printer for 70 years.
Oscar passed away January 12, 1983, in Riverside, California. He was 'Laid to Rest' in Olivewood Cemetery next to Helen.
