Mrs. Clemens Of St. Nazianz Dies At Columbus, Ohio
St. Nazianz.-
Mrs. Caroline Clemens, 79, widow of Peter Clemens, pioneer St. Nazianz hotel man, died Monday at the home of her daughter, Miss Harriet Clemens at Columbus, Ohio, with whom she lived for the past twelve years.
Mrs. Clemens, nee Caroline Seaman, was a native of Milwaukee. Her marriage to Peter Clemens took place 62 years ago at St. Nazianz, where Mr. Clemens was proprietor of the North Western House for many years. Twenty-five years ago he retired and the couple resided at Elkhart Lake for a few years and then returned to St. Nazianz, where they lived when Mr. Clemens died twelve years ago.
Survivors are: three sons, Peter and Arthur, Milwaukee, and Henry, Manitowoc; four daughters, Mrs. Jos. Burgard, Sheboygan; Mrs. Alois Sprang, St. Nazianz, Mrs. Charles Nenahlio, Beloit, and Miss Harriet Clemens, Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Henry Seaman in the state of Washington; seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The body arrived at St. Nazianz this morning and will lie in state at the home of Mrs. Alois Sprang until Thursday morning when funeral services will be held at St. Gregory's church at 10 o'clock. The Rev. Finton, S.D.S. will officiate and burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery.
