Fredericka Otto, nee Krueger, was born in Niederhagen, Kreis Regeuwald on Aug. 3, 1828. She came to the United States in 1854, remaining at Milwaukee for a few months after which she came to Reedsville. She was married to Frederick Schmidt who died in 1858. She then was married to Frederick Otto in 1859, he died in 1908. She had ten children, six of whom are living now, forty-one grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren. In 1863 she joined the church. She was converted in 1863. She died March 14, 1915 at quarter of two at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 11 days.
At 1:45 p.m. Sunday Mrs. Otto mother of W. C and John Otto, Mrs. Amelia Gissenass, Tena Graetz, Minnie Franske and Mrs. Dickvoss passed peacefully away to the Great Beyond, at the home of her son, W. C. Otto with whom she has resided during her lifetime. Mrs. Otto was 86 of age the cause of her death being due to old age. She suffered from asthma for several years. Her husband who preceded her in death five years ago lived to celebrate his 95th birthday anniversary. The funeral took place Wednesday forenoon from Rockland Ev. Church. Rev. J. J. Schneller officiating.
