DELMAR -- Douglas H. Moak, 63, passed away on October 19, 2005 at home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. Douglas is the son of Ernest J. and Eleanor Pemberton Moak. He was, for several years, service manager with Allied Business Equipment and for 30 years was maintenance foreman with the former Shepard's Farm Resort in Greenville. Most recently, he had worked with his good friend Brian Petrocine Builders and Remodelers. Doug loved to sing and was a member of the St. Peter's Church all male choir in Albany, the Slingerlands Choir, Our Lady of Mercy Church Choir and was a communicant, cantor and choir member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar.
The Moak family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Community Hospice for all the care and love shown to Doug during his illness, especially to his nurse, Sheila McGee and to Dr. Nini Wu.
Besides his parents, Doug is survived by his beloved wife, Jennie (McNab) Moak. He is the father of Jonathan (Jack) and his wife Sue Moak of Palmyra, N.Y. and Penny Van Deusen. He is father-in-law of David R. Van Deusen. He is the brother of Barbara Moak and Linda Smith, both of Voorheesville. He is the grandfather of Allen and Andrew Moak, Amy, Daniel and Kelly Van Deusen; and several nieces and nephews. He is the brother-in-law of Ray and Jeannette Olson and June and Sonny Alberts. Beloved son-in-law of the late Ed and Mildred McNab.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar. Friends may call Friday 4 to 8 p.m. at the Durant Funeral Home, 17 Languish Place (opposite the Stone Ends Restaurant), Glenmont. Interment, Onesquethaw Cemetery, Clarksville.
