Ruth Fisher, 99, of Westerlo, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000. Mrs. Fisher was born Nov. 25, 1901, in Clarksville, daughter of the late Frank and Charlotte Hallenbeck McMillen. A strong, family-loving woman, she also had numerous work experiences. She was a mail-carrier, ran an ice cream parlor, and managed her family farm. She was a councilwoman for the town of Westerlo and held weekly Bible studies in her home. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter Fisher Jr. and his wife Patricia, and Douglas F. and Dorothy Fisher; four grandchildren: Michael Snyder, Robert Fisher, Dona Hazen, and Deanna Boomhower; five greatgrandchildren: Aimee LaPlant, Amber LaPlant, Steven Hazen, Krystal Snyder, and Heath Boomhower. Her husband, Walter Fisher Sr.; two sisters; and two brothers are deceased. Graveside service and interment will be held at the Onesquethaw Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dormansville United Methodist Church Repair Fund, c/o Frances Swart, Dormansville, NY 12193. Arrangements are by the Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville.
