Elva Earl Counts was born February 22, 1927 in Eminence, MO the son of James C. Counts and Margaret Emaline (Nash) Counts. He passed away April 11, 2012 at his home in Eminence, MO making his age 85 years.

He was united in marriage to Laura Piatt in 1950 at St. Louis, MO.

Elva is preceded in death by his parents James and Margaret Counts; wife Laura Counts; two brothers Raymond Counts and Paul Counts; one sister Pauline Thomas and six infant brothers and sisters.

He is survived by one brother Frank Counts of Eminence, MO; two sisters Wilma Patterson of Mountain View, MO and Thelma Dixon of Eminence, MO; and a host of other family and friends.

Elva enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 16, 2012 at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Eminence, MO with Rev. Randy Ferguson officiating. Interment was in Piatt Cemetery in Timber, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Homes.
