Her father, Alfred Franklin Kemp, was born September i2, 1817, in county Kent. England, came to America in early life, and died on Staten Island, September, 1873; married, May 18, 1852, Cecilia Neilson, daughter of William Neilson, of New York City, and Hannah Coles.
