OBITUARY
Mrs. Delilah Pearson was born in Montgomery County, Ohio, June 29, 1825, and died at Sulphur Springs, Dec. 25, 1912.

She was married on Sept. 14, 1844 to H. F. Pearson and with him lived in Illinois. Mr. Pearson died in 1869, and in 1872 Mrs. Pearson and her children took up their march toward the west, with the many who were looking for homes, and they homesteaded 160 acres in Cloud County, Aurora township. The struggle of a widow and her children in those early days cannot be told, but Mrs. Pearson never faltered and at the time of her death she left her children in pleasant comfortable homes, and was able to see many of her ambitions realized…

Death was due to creeping paralysis and she was patient through many years of suffering. She was greatly loved by her family and is survived by four sons, two daughters, forty-two grandchildren, fifty-five great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren."
