Obituary:
Mrs. Emma Burglund Spawr, 75, former Mason County resident, died Monday afternoon at the home of her nieces, Mrs. Evelyn Stiegel and Miss Helma Queeding of Detroit. She had been ill for a year.
Born in Sweden, she came to the U.S. at the age of 16 and settled in Manistee, Michigan. She moved to Benton Harbor as a young woman; working for the J.N. Klock family in Benton Harbor and as a pastry cook for the Berrien County Hospital.
Nieces and nephews who survive are Mrs. Charles Fisher of Ludington, Mrs. Emma Radtke of Detroit, Mrs. Elma Nametz and Victor Burglund of Benton Harbor, Mrs. Anna Shimpke, Miss Helma Queeding, Mrs. Evelyn Stiegle, Miss Helma Johnson and Oscar Berglund of Detroit.
Funeral services are scheduled this evening at Cooper Funeral Home in Detroit. Stephens funeral coach will leave tonight to bring the body to Scottville for funeral services at 10:30 AM thursday from Stephens Chapel. Buriel will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Freesoil.
