Edna passed away Friday, April 21, 2006, at home with her family at her side. Edna (Semas) was born Jan. 27, 1922, in Hanford, Calif. She married Paul Piantanida in 1940, and they resided in San Luis Obispo until Paul passed away in May of 2001. Edna was fortunate enough to find love again and married Eugene Jones in March 2004. Gene and Edna had just moved to their dream home in Avila Beach before her passing. Services will be held at Reis Family Mortuary in San Luis Obispo with viewing on from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2006, and again at 1 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2006. The service will follow at 2 pm. Edna was an incredible woman with unbelievable style and grace. She had many friends and family whose lives she touched in very special ways. She was a wonderful homemaker and had a very deep love for her animals. Edna worked for Pacific Telephone for 38 years and retired in 1980. Edna was preceded in death by her only son Gary Piantanida in 1958, first husband Paul Piantanida and brother Lee Semas. She is survived by her husband Eugene Jones, sister Evelyn Todd, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and many, many other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Edna's favorite charity, the Children's Leukemia Society or the San Luis Obispo Children's Museum.
