Jerold "Cegal" Ceaglske, age 53, of 2932 - 40th St., Two Rivers, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon, May 25, 2001.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Larry Seidl, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Jerold was born April 20, 1948 in Manitowoc, son of Victor J. Ceaglske and the late Dolores M. Osesek Ceaglske. He attended St. Mary's Parochial School and Lincoln High School, graduating with the class of 1966. On Oct. 20, 1973, he married Kaye Olson at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers.

Jerry was employed as a millwright with United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America, Local Union #1056, for 30 years. Throughout the years Jerry was involved with numerous organizations, including Van's Athletic Association, Ducks Unlimited, Seagull's Club and the Eagles Aerie #706. He enjoyed playing cribbage with his father and annually served as the "chief corn roaster" at the Schultz family reunion. Jerry always took great pride in his work, especially his lawn care. He loved to entertain with neighbors, family and friends, and was the best joke teller. He also enjoyed playing golf, cards, the Wisconsin lottery and loved to cook. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Kaye, one son, John Ceaglske of Milwaukee, his father, Victor J. Ceaglske of Manitowoc and a special family dog, Dexter. His mother-in-law, Louise Olson of Two Rivers, two sisters and brothers-in-law; Carol and Richard Swetlik, Manitowoc, and Bette and Richard (Sam) Messman, Two Rivers; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law; Gail (Michael) Miller, Whitelaw, Harold A. Olson, Jr. and his wife, Cathy Karl, Manitowoc, and John (Suzanne) Olson, Green Bay. He is further survived by nieces and nephews, including his godchildren, Deana Swetlik, Kurt (Tina) Messman, Jeff Wiltman and Amy Jo Miller. Other nieces and nephews: Steve Swetlik, Andrew Swetlik, Kent (Renee) Messman, Kim (Jason) Kracht, Harold A. Olson III, Jeff, Britney, Jackie, Kurt, Kevin and Stephanie Olson. Very special cousin, Dennis (Karen) Vogel, Manitowoc, and other cousins, aunts, uncles, relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores M. Ceaglske, his father-in-law Harold A. Olson, Sr., an infant brother, James John Ceaglske, one nephew, Kris Messman and one niece, Paula Swetlik.

Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday evening. A parish prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Tuesday morning after 10 a.m. until leaving for the church.

Memorial may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Mark's Parish.
