In addition to her parents, Marjorie was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Walter C. Melville in 2001, in-laws, Ethel and Walter E. Melville, four brothers, Clarence (Ellen), Ray, Clifford and James Stuart (Beatrice) Morgan and special niece Joann Stewart.
Marjorie was a 66 year resident of Elmira Heights and a homemaker. She dedicated 51 years to Girl Scouting as an adult and was a member of the Oakwood United Methodist Church for 66 years.
Marjorie is survived by her four children; two sons, Gordon and Walter (Mary) Melville of Elmira Heights, daughters, Florence (Charles W.) VanEpps of Geneva, FL and Margaret (Loris) Smith of Elmira Heights; eleven grandchildren; James (Adriana), Mike (fiancée Didi), Mary (Brett Kinney), Jeff (Michelle) Melville, Patrick (Michelle) Cluney, Kristen (Steve) Sibelman, Amy (Matt) McNeely, Stephanie, Alex (Christine) Melville, Jennifer (Bill) Evans and Victoria (Jesse) Grover; seventeen great grandchildren; Sawyer, Cole, Olivia, Justin, Kerrigan, Marley, Colin, Anthony, Lucas, Amelia, Dylan, Connor, Morgan, Olivia, Emily, Katie and Natalie; two sisters, Mabel (Frank) Brucknak of Westfield, MA, and Mildred (Warren) Eno of Horseheads; sisters-in-law, Mary Morgan of Horseheads and Eudora Morgan of Mesa, AZ; several nieces, nephews and great friends including her best friend from high school, Roberta Westbrook of Towanda PA and her family.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W Water Street, Elmira. Marjorie's funeral service will be held Thursday, February 23, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Oakwood United Methodist Church. Interment will be at the Lane Cemetery in Luthers Mills, PA at the convenience of the family. Donations in Marjorie's memory may be made to the Oakwood United Methodist Church, 212 Oakwood Avenue, Elmira Heights, NY 14903.
