Lucy Ann Bilderback was born August 18, 1884 in Fannin County, Texas, daughter of William P. Bilderback and Julia T. Montgomery. In 1899, Lucy married Herbert Harrison Hewett, who was born June 1, 1874, in Missouri, son of William H. Hewett and Mary Hartley.

Living with them was their son, Henry A., age 4 months, born January 1900 in Indian Territory; and Herbert's grandfather, William L. Hartley, a widower and an invalid, age 74, born February 1826 in North Carolina.
The 1920 Federal Census for Durant Ward 1, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows Herbert, a lumber yard manager, age 45, born in Missouri; and his wife, Lucy, age 38, born in Texas. Living with them were two sons: Henry A., age 20; and Harry C., age 14; both born in Oklahoma.
The 1940 Federal Census for Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows Herbert, age 65, born in Missouri; and his wife, Lucy, age 57, born in Texas. The census shows that Herbert and Lucy were still living at 415 Northeast 4th in Durant and that Herbert was now retired.
Lucy died August 10, 1943 and was buried in the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County). Herbert died January 5, 1960 and was buried beside his wife.
