Willoughby News-Herald August 6, 2010: "Services for Marian L. (Bolger) Von Sick, 94, of Willowick, [Ohio], will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4145 Clark Ave., Willoughby 44094. Mrs. Von Sick passed away Monday, August 2, 2010, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights. Born March 6, 1916, in Cleveland, a daughter of Charles and Clara (Walters) Bolger, she was raised in Garfield Heights and moved to Willowick in 1941. She was a graduate of Garfield Heights High School and the Wilcox Business College in Cleveland. Miss Bolger was employed as a secretary at the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company prior to her marriage. She was a past member of the Mentor Harbor Yacht Club and the Lake County Yacht Club. She was also a past secretary for the former Booth Memorial Hospital Women's Auxiliary. Mrs. Von Sick was a great-great-great-granddaughter of Ezekiel and Lucy Carter Hawley who accompanied Lucy's brother, Lorenzo Carter, when he founded Cleveland in 1796. She was also a descendant of William Brewster who came to this country on the "Mayflower." Her husband of 65 years, Jack H. Von Sick, passed away July 19, 2005. Her parents, Charles and Clara Bolger, and brother, Edwin Bolger, are also deceased. Interment will be in Knollwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Holden Arboretum, 9500 Sperry Road, Kirkland, OH 44094."
