John R. Stanley, father of A. O. Stanley, died at the home of his son at Middletown on Wednesday evening shortly after 6 o'clock. Mr. Stanley had been ill several weeks and his death was not unexpected. He was a resident of this County and was prominently identified with its early history. He was aged 74 years.
