STERLING - Adeline "Sue" M. Knox, 84, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Sterling Pavilion. She worked at Frantz Manufacturing for many years prior to retirement.
Adeline was born Sept. 4, 1927 in Sterling, the daughter of Frederick and Martha (Johnson) Eilers. She married Emory Tompkins on April 19, 1947 in Sterling. He preceded her in death. She married Aaron Knox; he also preceded her in death.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls.
Survivors include three daughters, Ellen (Steven) Wagner, Pennie (Neal) Shipley and Particia Tompkins of Defuniak Springs, Fla.; five grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Thelma Eilers.
She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian , Edna and Esther; and two brothers, Lawrence and Lester
Eilers.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, followed by the funeral services at 11 a.m., at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling, with the Rev. Daniel Behmlander, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
A memorial has been established to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
