Obituary:
Joseph Gerard Baker, "Joey" passed away peacefully the morning of December 23, 2011 at the age of 48 in Mesa, Arizona, after a long period of hospitalization. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Baker, sisters and brothers, Phyllis Rowe, Albert Baker, Jr., Christine Launder, and Gregory Baker. He is further survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He is proceeded in death by his father, Albert Baker, Sr., his sister, Barbara Baker, and his nephew, Robert Imus, who all came the morning of the 23rd to take him to a "better place" Joey came into this world 48 years ago with Downs Syndrome and therefore was very involved with Special Olympics for many years. His favorite activity all of his life was bowling. He was one of the sweetest, most loving people God put on this earth and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Christmas was his favorite time of year and now he'll spend it with his best friend, his father, whom he called "Pal". Services will be held Wednesday, December 28 at 2:00 PM with visitation at 1:00 PM at Mountain View Funeral Home at 7900 East Main St. in Mesa. Family requests donations be made to the Special Olympics.
