She was born Dec. 7, 1931, in Scott Township, Steuben County, to Robert L. & Bessie I. (Refner) Cope. Mrs. Sowle graduated from Scott Center rural school and one week later, on April 22, 1950, she married David D. Sowle, in Angola. He died on Dec. 17, 1994. Mrs. Sowle was a past member of the Auburn Church of God and the church's Women's Missionary Society. She was a past member of the Women of the Moose.
Surviving are a son, Michael Sowle of Auburn; two daughters, Carol Sowle of Indianaplis and Phyllis Wade (Steve) of Auburn; four grandchildren; Andrea Sowle and Allison Sowle of Auburn, Travis Cooper of Auburn and Melissa Wade-Bussing (George) also of Auburn; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Cooper and Skylar, Kyli and Landen Wade, all of Auburn. Mrs. Sowle was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Betty; two brothers: Keith and Larry; her husband; and a son, Douglas.
A short service will take place on Monday at 2 p.m. at Pinnington - McComb Funeral & Cremation Services, 502 N. Main St., Auburn with visitation taking place one hour preceeding. Chaplain Carol A.
