ANSTED A man was killed and his wife and daughter injured Friday when their automobile sideswiped a tractor trailer at Big Bend, three miles east of Lookout on U. S. 60. The death victim, Clady Earl Gipson, 57, of Hico, was a disabled miner. Injured were his widow, Lola Mae, 53, who was reported in satisfactory condition at Laird Memorial Hospital in Montgomery, and a daughter, Geraldine, 16, who was treated and released. James A. Carver of Henderson, Ky., driver of the truck, was not charged. Also surviving Gipson are three other daughters, Mrs. Katherine Walters of Corliss, Mrs. Ernestine Jones of Lookout and Miss Arleen at home; five sons, Earl, Robert and Randall, all of Canton, Ohio, Clayton of Huston, Ohio, and James at home; five sisters, Mrs. Hallie Ward of Hilton Village, Mrs. Myrtle Clendenin of Oak Hill, Mrs. Margie Shortridge of Sistersville, Mrs. Frances Shortridge of Orient Hill and Mrs. Virginia Hasksma of Burbank, Calif., and five brothers, Harold, Garland and Melvin, all of Rainelle, Benton of Russellville and Huey of Weston.
