Rudolph Joseph Petschl was the youngest of three born to immigrant parents Mathias and Anna (Weiss) Petschl. When he was only 5 years old, he lost his mother Anna, who had been sick for some time. He soon was joined by additional siblings and a step-mother Mary Turk. Later, he would marry Bessie Gay and have three children, Dorothy, Eugene, and an unnamed baby boy. Rudolph worked in a variety of positions throughout his lifetime. He even owned a dry cleaning business with his wife Bessie in Minneapolis.
He is buried by his mother Anna and wife Bessie. Less than a week after Rudolph's death his father Mathias passed away.
