BURLINGTON - Garfield Steven Belair, 85, died peacefully in his sleep, in Birchwood Terrace in Burlington, on Saturday, Aug. 25th 2012, which was also his 56th wedding anniversary.
He was born in Burlington on July 25th 1927, the son of Exidoir and Jessie (Elliott) Belair.
He served honorably with the U.S. Army in Korea and spent over 25 years working as a milkman for H.P. Hood and Sons, Inc.
Many will remember him as the owner of Gar's Market in the 1970's or as a regular Bingo winner at the Heineberg Sr. Center, the Elks' Club and St. Mark's Church.
Garfield is survived by his wife, three children, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and extended family.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Clayton Belair.
Arrangements by the Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Home, 97 Elmwood Avenue in Burlington.
Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Burlington.
