LAGRANGE - Wallace W. Bowen, age 90, of LaGrange died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Millers Merry Manor, LaGrange. He was born on February 7, 1922 in LaGrange to Frank and Nellie (Wyland) Bowen. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a clerical assistant to Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower during World War II. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Agriculture. He married Oma L. Miller in Sturgis, Mich., on April 10, 1959. She survives in LaGrange.

He was employed at Sealed Power in LaGrange as a foreman until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Coin Club in LaGrange, VFW and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 215 in LaGrange.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Sherri and Randy Price of Morris, Ill.; one stepson, Dewayne and Susan Yoder of Sunnyville, Calif; two grandsons, Randy Walsh and Christopher Price, both of Morris, Ill.; and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eloline Bowen.

Visitation will be held today, Monday, August 27, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Carney Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, Ind., with military rites performed by the American Legion Post 215, LaGrange.
