Howard E Towner was born the second son of Bert Emerson and Cleo Mae Darling Towner. Married Pauline G Shilton, daughter of Iril & Matilda Hissong Shilton on Oct 6, 1951 in Angola, Steuben Co., Indiana. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Janet and brother Robert Towner. He is survived by a sister, Ramona, son Steven P. Towner of Cadillac, Michigan, daughter Linda (Rondall) Heaton, and a grandson Erik W Heaton.
Services for Mr. Towner were held on December 12, 2012 at a gathering in Shelter F., Riverside National Cemetery at 8:00am. 8:30am began the Mission Briefing followed at 9:00am by Honors Rendered with final gravesite salute at 10:30am. The services also included five of Howard's fellow Veterans from the Army, Navy and Air Force who served in Korea, Vietnam and WWII.
