Graveside services for Mrs. Vernell Dunn Bogan Whitfield, age 83, will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Old Town Cemetery. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Haynesville, LA.
Visitation will begin Tuesday at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Mrs. Whitfield was born February 13, 1929 in Antoine, AR to Carlos and Addie Dunn and passed away August 27, 2012 in Denton, TX. She was a resident of Lewisville, TX and a former resident of Haynesville and was co-owner of the Western Auto Store, Haynesville.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Beck of Lewisville, TX; son, Dewayne Bogan of Texarkana, AR; brothers, Leslie Dunn of Murfreesboro, AR, Norman Dunn of Ft. Smith, AR; sister, Mary Dunn Gatlin of Prattsville, AR; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces & nephews.
Mrs. Whitfield was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Burnie Bogan, Theo "Whit" Whitfield; brothers, J.P. Dunn, Jethro Dunn, W.C. Dunn and sister, Maurice Dunn Wilson.
