Milton E. Magar, 57, of Russellville, formerly of Batesville, died Sunday, December 5, 2004 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. The son of Alfred and Edith (White) Magar, he was born September 8, 1947 in Batesville, Arkansas. He married Sandra Whitted on October 14, 1967 at Lawton, Oklahoma. He was a retired Command Sergeant Major in the United States Army and a veteran of the Gulf War. Most recently he worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2285. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Magar.


Survivors include his wife, Sandra Magar, of Russellville; three sons, Michael Alan Magar and wife Michele of Darmstadt, Travis Ryan Magar of Fayettellville, Robert Eugene Magar of Russellville; one daughter, Amanda Marie Magar of Russellville; one grandson, Duncan McLain Magar of Provo; one granddaughter, Melina Lee Reed of Darmstadt; his mother, Edith Magar of Batesville; three brothers, Rickey Magar and wife Donna of Batesville, Randy Magar and wife Lori of Star City, Alex Magar and wife Margaret of Batesville; one sister, Susie Satterwhite and husband Vernon of Cave City.


Funeral will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Humphrey Chapel. Reverend Randy Magar will officiate. Burial will be at 3:00 PM at Locust Grove Cemetery at Locust Grove, Arkansas by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
