Clarence E. Montgomery, 75, 503 Sumner St., died Sunday in Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Grace Baptist Church. Dr. James Harvey will officiate. Burial will be in the Cedar Cemetery, Larrabee. The Boothby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Montgomery was born Jan. 4, 1912, in Sutherland to Chris and Grace (Frear) Montgomery. He attended Calumet public schools. He married Winnifred Morey on May 28, 1934 at Larrabee. He lived in Cherokee since 1959. Prior to this he lived in Sutherland, Larrabee and Astoria, S.D.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Harvey and George both of Elkton, S.D.; four daughters, Mrs. Paul (Ann) Fischer, of Marcus, Mrs. Jack (Nell) Mitchell, of Fullerton, Calif., Mrs. Allen (Carol) Livingston, of Porterville, Calif., and Mrs. Don (Shirley) Bastady, of Porterville, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four sisters, Edna Clow, of Cherokee, Mrs. Harry (Inez) Lesher, of Gary, S.D., Mrs. Wayne (Ruth) Fredenburg, Yucca Valley, Calif., and Mrs. Merlyn (Dorothy) Draper, of Sutherland.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
