Joseph V. Vraney, age 91, formerly of 8816 Reifs Mills Road, Whitelaw, and currently of River Wood Estates, Manitowoc, died Monday morning, April 9, 2007, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Joseph was born on Sept. 4, 1915, in the town of Kossuth, son of the late Joseph and Julia Cherney Vraney. He attended schools in the town of Kossuth and Lincoln High School in Manitowoc. He married the former Clara Kolarik on Nov. 27, 1940 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, New Denmark. Joseph farmed in the town of Kossuth and worked for 25 years at Imperial Eastman as a technician in the engineering lab, retiring in 1980. He was a lifelong member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church and a member of Holy Name Society. Joe was also a 50 year member of the Catholic Knights. He enjoyed playing softball, watching baseball and football (especially the Green Bay Packers), and gardening. Joseph enjoyed his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all the family sporting activities and family gatherings.
Survivors omitted for privacy
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Roy, Ervin, Vic; one sister: Sylvia Dvorak; and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2007, at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Reifs Mills. The Rev. Paul Paider will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be a parish wake service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home led by Father Paider.
The family would like to thank the staff of Holy Family Memorial Hospital, Father Klingeisen, and Deacon Roulf, for the compassionate care given to Joe. Also, a special thank you to the staff at River Wood Estates for all their love and concern. Joe will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
